Nonpartisan stupidity

In recent weeks, all of you have been saddled with the biggest debt of any generation in the history of our great country. The Obama administration, along with a puppy-dog Congress (both Democrats and Republicans) has doled out more than $1 trillion between the stimulus package and the omnibus spending bill, much of it earmarked for special projects that will have little positive effect on getting our economy back on track.
The American public stood by and collectively applauded while this spending took place. And while I hesitate to point blame outside the Washington Beltway, it was largely your generation that voted these politicians into office.
It is my hope that you are now opening your eyes to the truth. A president that ran on a "no earmarks" platform just signed off on almost 9000 of them in his very first budget. A vice president who included corporate truth and responsibility in his platform has his closest kin involved in what will prove to be a scheme just shy of the Bernie Madoff scandal. It took an outraged country to rise up and scream before President Obama expressed any "outrage" over AIG using its bailout money to pay $165 million in bonuses. Shouldn't there have been a little due diligence before the government handed over this money? Or perhaps some stipulations how it could be spent?
(Excellent piece on this point here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/20108.html )
You get my point...or at least you should. You were sold a bill of goods by this administration. They called for change. And it was change you (we!) got.
But here's a little secret: All change is not good.
Did we need change? Absolutely! The Bush Administration was fraut with fault and stupidity. The Clinton Administration...well, enough said there.
So President Obama and the Beltway Idiots aren't all to blame. They had plenty of help setting the stage. But they are behind the wheel now and their foot has the gas pedal to the floorboard.
Hold on. You're screwed...and only you can save yourselves.
Stay tuned...
